Shaker & Brush "funky groove"

Again we are going to use a shaker and brush, but this time a more regular groove.

If you open de PDF file you can see that I've simply written down the interaction between kick and snare.

If you watch this video closely you can see, (and maybe more important hear) what the hihat foot does to keep the paste of this groove. It needs to be played on every backbeat i.e. 2nd  and 4th beat. It gives a nice laid back feel to it rather than a speedy and skippy feel, because there's allready so much shaker going in a faster note group (16th)

Again I would like you to focus on a nice balance for all the instruments together. This way of playing needs a certain type of music of course (so don't force your metall band to go down with the volume, just because you want to play this groove, ha,ha,ha,...)

Open the PDF and find out about this groove and exercises to get grooves like these sound awesome!

Try and play it slowly first! Keep time when you practice at all times.....
