"My snare drum sounds too fat!"

Yo Juan, I've got to ask you some advise here...my snare drum,, a Pearl SRX series, sounds too fat if you ask me!

I have tried one and the other but I can't get a shorter or tighter sound. Maybe you can give me some advise about different drum skins; I am using the standard factory drum heads right now!

Waite a minute here... a snare that sounds "too fat"?! 

I think that a lot of drummers will bite their fingers about this subject, ha,ha,......Isn't that something most of us drummers would love to have: a snare drum that sounds fat?! 

Maybe you mean it in a different way...I hope so. Anyway, from the way I understand it, I will try to give you some advise. Try an Aquarian Coated Finish; great sounding and easy to tune! And maybe get some Moongel ® to create a shorter sound.

Look at "Snare Care & Tuning" subject at the menu "All About Drumkits" and follow the easy steps how to change a drumhead. If that still doesn't do the job, feel free to come back and put down another question, ok?
