Holiday season; What to do when you're not going anywhere
This summer I am gonna stay at home, doing things that I never get to do, all because of the lack of time, while I am running around! In fact, it is great to get organised with a couple of things.
One of them is to get rid of a lot of single drums, cymbals and drumkits that I have in stock, but never use anymore! Recognize these thoughts?: "mmmmhhhmm I do have to many cymbals at the moment. I use a couple of them and all the rest I've kept in my storage. I could sell them, but what if I that one gig comes in and then I will need that one special crash that I've kept for years...ok, I'd better keep it!" Most likely after 8 years you find out that one gig where you wanted to use that 'special crash' never came. All I am saying now is: why can't I just be happy with what I use most of the time. It probably is the best sounding stuff anyway, otherwise I would'nt be playing on them all the time? Every summer I tend to go to my storage place and select a few items to put on E-Bay. It's fun! I Getting rid of stuff, getting to meet new people that are really interested in good material for a decent price and everbody walks away being very happy! This time it's gonna be a big sales at my address....2 drum kits, a snare drum,a pair of timbales, a quinto, a bass drum pedal, 2 all purpose flight cases, a hardware flight case on wheels, and anything I will run into at my place... Yep, I am gonna make a sport out of it to get it all sold this summer!! At least I will have some stories to tell to my friends when we meet after the holiday season, ha,ha,ha,...."Where have you been? - I've been selling!!"
