A brief history about the 'birth of a new idea': Meeting guitarist Peppino D'Agostino (USA) and Stef Burns (USA), it started a new creative and exciting challenge for me. Working with both Peppino and Stef meant: "freedom to play more than just drums" by using even more dynamics and more colourful sounds. For these concerts on our tours in Italy, I've put a special drum set-up to serve my acoustic needs. And that wasn't all!! Because of my passion for creative sounds and innovation, I had to come up with new tools to make greater dynamics! I started working on new tools and instruments with the company called: "Albrando". With the first product we've just hit the market in co-operation with the best stick-brand ever: PRO MARK!

Promark SMAX Drumsticks; what are they made off?

Dubbed SMAX, these new specialty sticks are available in soft (SMAX), medium (SMAXX), and hard (SMAXXX), and are made of high-impact poly-vinyl. The handle is made of premium grade American hickory. The hardness variation produces a unique range of sounds from somewhat delicate to sharp and aggressive. The exact ingredients I am not allowed to publish of course....the main secret is the touch, weight and strength that give the possibilities to create total new sounds on the drumkit.

So, what do they sound like?

I know.....it is difficult to understand what the advantage would be to have a pair of these tools and play with it, just from me telling you these stories.

However, if you go to the workshop menu, you'll find some footage and audio so you can check out what they could sound like on the kit!

Although I am using them in the way that I play, I recently found out that many colleague drummers use it in their specific way,

creating their own sounds with it! Isn't that just great?!!
