Unless you've stumbled accidentally on this website chances are that you're the owner of one or even more drum kits. Welcome friend, on this place where you can find a lot of information about drumming and drum hardware. All gathered and displayed by me, Juan van Emmerloot. So you are passionate about your music and your instrument, I think. Just like me. Well I'm always glad to meet a soul mate in music. In the years that I maintained this site I've met drummers from all over the world. Thank God for the Internet! Otherwise it wouldn’t be possible to share this information with so many people. That gives me the kicks, because besides being  a performer who loves to be on stage, I also enjoy coaching and teaching very much. When I see my students behind their drum kits, I can't resist to direct them and improve their playing. I don't know where that comes from and where it will lead me, but the urge to help fellow musicians is there and will always be there I guess. You can say that this site is the virtual outlet for my desire to share what I know about drumming matters. On this website you can find my thoughts about various subjects and experiences in practicing music. So all of you can benefit from it all. I have to be honest and tell you that although I try to discipline myself to add new stuff  on a weekly base, It turns out that I am not always finding the time to deliver each and every week, due to an ‘over-heated’ agenda with playing, teaching, coaching and producing. So much ideas, so little time, so frustrating! One of the ideas that I will enroll in the near future is to put loose play along tracks for you on this site. Because I also produce for several bands and artists all over the world, I have built an impressive “library” of tracks, fit for play along purposes for drummers. I am in the process of developing a player in where you can click on and off the several music layers. For a couple of bucks people can download their favourite music style and play along behind their drum kits. For the time being you can obtain a DVD with 10 play along songs in my web shop. Will I find reviews of drum kits here?

Well not really. Although I am a drum hardware geek, so to say, it's quite impossible to review a drum kit without giving a very personal impression. There are so many brands that have really good stuff, with a endless number of combinations and possibilities! So for a real trustworthy review you have to go out, try and judge for yourself in a well stocked drum store. Maybe you'll have to travel a little for it, but I am sure you find such a drum store in your region. In the Netherlands I strongly recommend to go to Adams Drum World in Ittervoort (Limburg, the Netherlands). They make their name comes true when you see the line-up of every brand of drum kits. It 's hard for a drum maniac as I am to leave the building without choosing something from the thousands of the finger licking good stuff that they have! However, I do have a lot of information about drum hardware with which I can educate you on this website. Just wander around, study and if it inspires you to questions, simply mail me and I am happy to look for an answer as you see behind the Q&A tab on this site.

Is this website only about drum kits?

Absolutely not! Of course drum kits are an important concern, for every serious drummer. But the main goal is to make music with it. And you and I know how hard it is to master even the most obscure skill in drumming. So a major part of this website covers how I practise the art of playing the drums. Hopefully it will inspire you... You find plenty of videos in where I show how to do this or that and the number of videos will grow in time! For a step by step thorough practise with me, look into my DVD course in the web shop.

My personal blog presents my experiences on the road. On my request some guest writers fill in with their thoughts. You know, doing my things in life, I meet very interesting people. Sharing their insights and philosophies is what I hope you will appreciate.
